Following a recent meeting of the Golf Forum, the R&A and home unions EWGA has decided to allow the use of Distance Measuring Devices (DMDs) in EWGA medals, Australian Spoons and the PING four ball better ball tournament at club level and where there is a local rule in place allowing the use of DMDs.

However, EWGA will continue not to allow DMDs for all regional and national competitions including Medal Finals, regional and national finals of the Australian Spoons, and the PING Plate and Grand finals.

EWGA continue to advise counties strongly not to allow the use of DMDs in their competitions.

The change will take effect from 1st January 2010
