Staffordshire Ladies' County Golf Association

Staffs CGP officially launched!

The Staffordshire County Golf Partnership (CGP) was officially launched at an event last Monday 28th June at The Chase Golf Club.

All clubs within the County were sent invitations to the event which was intended to outline the aims of the Partnership to develop golf within the County by getting more people playing golf, especially women and girls, helping clubs attract new members, attain GolfMark, etc.

The CGP launched it's "Go 4 Green - Introducing Golf to New Players" initiative as well as outlining the County Academy Program. Funding of £97,000 is now available, up to March 2013, to the Partnership for the development of golf in Staffordshire with £25,000 of this for the County Academy programme, via Club and Coach and £14,000 for Coach Development.

Some of the benefits that we have seen already are that grants are now available to the SLCGA now that the Partnership is in place such as the EWGA Women and Girls Grant, which is only available via a County Golf Partnership.

If your golf club did not send a representative to the launch event the presentation is available for download from the Staffordshire CGP website.
