General
1. All competitions shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and with the Local Rules as may be approved by the Junior Committee.
2. All players must have County membership as permitted by the Association and the E.W.G.A.
3. All entries shall be submitted on official entry forms and should reach the Competition organiser by the date on which entries close. Entry fees will not be returnable for any reason, with the exception of unsuccessful applicants who are balloted out
4. All matters relating to the competition shall be settled by the Junior Committee whose decision shall be final. The Junior Committee reserve the right to refuse an entry without assigning a reason.
5. It will be obligatory for all competitors to play with a ball that is named on the current R. and A. or U.S.G.A. list of approved golf balls. No XXX allowed. Penalty for breach of Rule - DISQUALIFICATION.
6. Competitors may not engage a Professional Golfer, Assistant Professional Golfer or a relative as a caddie (with the exception of the Beginners Competitions). Penalty for breach of Rule - DISQUALIFICATION. Refer to additional information below.
7. All entrants must have held a qualifying handicap on the day designated as the closing date for entries. A player whose handicap has increased above the limit shall play off the limit for the competition.
8. Any competitor who is not on the first tee at her advertised time of start renders herself liable to - DISQUALIFICATION. under Rule 6-3. In the absence of circumstances which would warrant the waiving of the penalty of disqualification under Rule 33-7, if the player(s) arrive at the starting point, ready to play, within five minutes of the allocated starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is either loss of the first hole in match play, or two strokes in stroke play, instead of disqualification. The Junior Committee shall have the power to delay the time of start of any competitor or competitors.
9. Play to be from LGU. tees (except beginners).
10. Any competitor shall not knowingly make use of any drug to enhance her performance. In this respect the attention of competitors is drawn to the proscribed list of drugs issued by the Sports Council, a copy of which is available on request. Any competitor infringing this condition or if asked to do so, refusing to take a test may be disqualified.
11. All Cups/Trophies to be held for one year. Responsibility for engraving shall lie with the winning clubs/individuals.
ALL REFERENCES TO HANDICAPS IN THESE RULES AND CONDITIONS SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE PLAYING HANDICAPS AND NOT EXACT HANDICAPS
Important Additional Information
No Caddies/trolley pullers/bag carriers allowed in junior competitions (accept the Beginners Competitions).
Parents/guardians/relatives may not walk on the fairways/greens/tees within 100 yards of their competitor (This is an EWGA regulation) in any junior competition this includes strokeplay/stablefords and matchplay. No advice is allowed to be given. If their actions are considered to be affecting play of any other competitor. Penalty for breach - DISQUALIFICATION of the competitor.
