Doreen's Hole-in One!

Doreen BanksCongratulations to Doreen Banks on achieving her very first Hole in One!

Mrs Doreen Banks, aged 85,who is in her 53rd year as a member of Oxley Park Golf Club recorded "the ace" on the short Par 3, 6th hole 110 yards, in the Ladies competition on the 8th April.

In 1973 Doreen became the Lady Captain of Oxley Park Golf Club and in 2013, the Club's Centenary year, was elected as Lady Captain once again.

Doreen has also been Staffordshire County Secretary and County Captain in 1993/94 when Staffordshire Ladies won the English County Championships.

Sue Turner Competition 2014

Congratulations to Corinne Tooth and Bridget Locke, from Ingestre G.C., who both knew Sue very well so it was an emotional win!

Thank you to Ingestre Golf Club for hosting the competition and to everyone who helped organise the day!

Ludlow GC - Ladies Scratch Open

Ludlow Golf Club are holding a Ladies Scratch Open for the first time this year on Saturday 5th April and they still have some places available.

They would love to welcome more players from the surrounding counties to join them for this flagship event.

The competition, with gross and nett prizes, is open to players of 15 handicap and under and the winner will lift the Ludlow Ladies Scratch Bowl for the first time ever in their Club's 125th year so it is a very special event.

Entry forms are on their website www.ludlowgolfclub.com and the entry fee is just £12 for the 18 hole Strokeplay qualifying competition.

Tee times will be somewhere between 10:45 – 13:00

Senior Men's and Women's Midlands Tournament

The 2014 Senior Men's and Women's Midlands Tournament will be played at Newark Golf Club on the 10/11 July 2014.

Entries are accepted from both men (over 55) and women (over 50) and the entry fee of £55 includes two rounds of competition plus a free practice day the day before the first round.

Prizes shall be awarded to both the best nett and best gross as well as daily prizes.
