Staffordshire had two County players competing in this event which was held at Royal Birkdale on the 27th August.

Sam Birks (Wolstanton) finished with a score of 152 just outside the top ten in joint 11th place and Bronwyn Davies finished with a score of 158.

The 2nd team have had a wonderful season winning home and away matches to both Shropshire and Derbyshire. This resulted in them progressing through to the Midlands North Final against Leicestershire and Rutland which was played at Woolaton Park on 31st August.

I am absolutely delighted to report that Staffs won 5-4, it was a fantastic match with the result dependant on the last match on the course!

Well done to all who have played throughout the season and to Annette and Deb for their support.

Staffs Girls have had some great results in their matches so far this year and have one more match to play which is agains Notts this weekend.

They've won four matches in the Scratch League with 2 wins, one draw and one loss in the Handicap League.

Congratulations to Staffordshire Girls on great results at the recent Midland North Girls Championship which was held at Chevin Golf Club in Derbyshire.

Emily Coleman (Trentham) came fourth in the Championship event with 155 gross and Gemma Batty (Trentham) won the Nett event with a score of 137 and dropped her handicap to eight.

The team of Sam Meese (Enville), Leanne Ball (Aston Wood) and Emily Coleman (Trentham) were second in the Team (Gross) event.

Coaching dates have been announced for the Autumn 2010 Level I (Beginners) Coaching.

Level I coaching is for beginners and girls with junior club handicaps (37-54) although exceptions may be made in instances where family members are attending together.

There is a choice of two venues:

1. The Golf Academy at St Thomas's Priory G.C. with PGA Professional Michael Beaumont
2. The Three Hammers Golf Complex, with Piers Ward and Andrew Proudman

Dates: Sundays 26 Sept and  3/10/17/24 October 2010 = 5 Sundays
